Vieira de Sousa Vintage 2011 is produced with grapes from one of our vineyards by the Douro River.
2011 proved to be a fantastic year for Port wine, with a vintage declaration by most companies and producers. Maturation took place with warm weatherb and abundant ground water reserves. August washot and dry which helped the homogeneous ripeness.
Compact, elegant and concentrated with an intense black ink colour and a nose full of dark blackberry and blackcurrant fruit. Gradually opens to a full nose of herbal and spicy notes.
Grape Variety:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinto cão, Tinta Roriz
Vinification:
The grapes come from one single vineyard, they were fermented with foot treading in lagares. After fortification with grape brandy, the wine aged in inox tanks. In 2013 we bottled this fantastic wine.
