This type of olive oil results from the mixture of refined olive oil and virgin olive oil. The olives used for the production of non virgin olive oil don't have much quality and are affected by many external factors and other damages. As such, the olive oil is artificially purified, removing excessive acidity and other impurities. This transformations affects the flavour and colour, so some virgin olive oil is added to compensate the privation of properties.
