The first testimonies of the fish preserving activity in Setúbal date from the Roman period.

At that time, the region was one of the most important fish preserving centers around the Western Mediterranean.

Today it is still possible to find traces of their presence, either in Setúbal or in Troia, a peninsula situated on the left bank of the River Sado.

Conserveira Rio Azul borns of this ancestral tradition of fish preservation.

We select the best fresh fish, caught at the Portuguese coast and only in accordance with sustainable fishing methods.

We preserve it solely in accordance with the Portuguese traditional method, in factories carefully selected to create a unique traditional product, with unrivaled quality and a renewed image.
